Packroll runs on your phone. Your photos and videos never leave it, and there is no account to create.
The app sends anonymous counts about how it is used: how many photos, how long, which screen. You can switch that off in Settings.
Your photos and videos
Packroll asks to read your photo library because that library is the thing it cleans. Everything it does with your photos happens on the phone: grouping copies, comparing lookalikes, building packs, counting megabytes.
No photo, thumbnail, file name, folder or date is ever sent anywhere. There is no server of ours holding any of it, because there is no server of ours.
Faces
Packroll can gather the photos of one person so you can send them as a pack. It tells people apart on the phone, and what it learns stays on the phone.
Nothing about a face is sent anywhere — not an image, not a crop, not the numbers the app derives from one. You can erase everything it learned in Settings → Erase what the app learned about faces. Your photos are not touched.
Deleting
Packroll never deletes anything by itself. What you swipe away waits in a review screen, and the deletion is carried out by your phone's own system dialog, which you confirm. A sealed photo is never offered for deletion at all.
Packs you send
A pack is a file. Your phone hands it to whichever app you pick, a messenger or e-mail or anything else, and it goes straight from you to the other person. It does not pass through us and we never see it.
Usage data
To know whether the app works, we send anonymous events. This is the whole list, and nothing outside it is sent:

Each event also carries your device model, operating system version, app version, language, time zone, and a random identifier made up on the device. No account, no e-mail address, no advertising identifier, nothing you typed.
These events are processed for us by PostHog, Inc., in the United States.
You can turn this off in Settings → Help improve the app. Off means off: nothing is held back to be sent later.
Subscriptions
Apple and Google handle the payment. We never see your card, your name or your address. All they tell us is whether this phone has an active subscription.
Children
Packroll is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
What you can do
- Stop the usage data: Settings → Help improve the app.
- Erase the face data: Settings → Erase what the app learned about faces.
- Remove everything: uninstall the app. It keeps nothing outside your phone, so nothing survives it.
- Ask us anything: write to the address below.
Changes
If any of this changes, this page changes with it, and so does the date at the top.
